What it funds
- Physical site improvements on industrial sites.
- Costs of pursuing Georgia Ready for Accelerated Development (GRAD) certification.
- Due diligence studies supporting site development.
The premise is that Georgia loses projects when there is no site ready to show. RSDI pays to get sites ready before a prospect appears.
Who can apply
- Units of general-purpose local government and local development authorities.
- The site must be a minimum of 50 contiguous acres.
- Your county must carry a OneGeorgia eligibility determination. Communities in non-eligible counties cannot apply or receive funds.
What you'll need to match
- Roughly 10% match for applicants in a OneGeorgia Eligible community.
- Roughly 25% match for applicants in a Conditionally Eligible community.
- Applications are expected to leverage other funding as well, whether private debt or equity, philanthropic support or other public funds.
Local public and private investment beyond the minimum match improves an application's competitiveness.
How it works
- RSDI runs as an ongoing competitive cycle with awards made at regular intervals rather than a single annual round.
- Before submitting anything, you schedule an Initial Project Assessment meeting with your DCA regional representative to confirm eligibility.
- A pre-application is required, generally due well ahead of the full application.
